How is it made?

The production of precast concrete elements takes place under controlled conditions in enclosed factories. This makes the control of manufacturing, waste, emissions, noise levels, etc. easy.

A mould in general is the counterpart to a Cast. Casting is the act of pouring liquid material (i.e. Concrete mixture) into the cavity of a mold. After a period of time, this liquid will cure via chemical reaction or cooling.

Manufacturing Process:

1. Mould preparation - all Moulds are made in-house

- disposible casts are used for once-off items

- silicon rubber or fiberglass casts are used for very detailed items

2. Casting process

- the Cement mixture is poured into the Mould

3. Curing Period

- 12-24 hours are required for the Cast to cure in the Mould

4. De-moulding

- process of de-moulding is starting after the curing period and the mould is removed from the cast

5. Resting & Finishing

- the resting period gives the cast additional strength and Finishing the final touch.

How is it made?

Our mouldings are made of three components:

    1. The EPS foam core: Precision shaped with detail forms the base of our mouldings
    2. Fiber-glass reinforcement mesh: Reinforces the mouldings and prevents cracking
    3. MouldeX® FLEXCOAT coating: Our own high strength polymer render formulation that provides a hard,

      durable, yet flexible surface.

Installation of MouldeX® Prestige Mouldings is fast, easy and will save you time and labour. Mouldings can be cut using a mitre saw at the job site and glued to the wall using recommended adhesives. Temporary fasteners are used for larger, heavier mouldings to aid the adhesion period.
